It is well-known that learningEnglish is definitely important, which was told when we were children. However, here I would like to put my emphasis on the importance of Englishin job hunting.
Anyone who has concerned about the currentsituation of graduates’ job hunting would not fail to notice that the low-levelof English account for their unemployment to a great extent. Some of them have high degrees in good colleges but they still feeldifficult to find an ideal job as a result of their inferior English ability.
So, is it saying that all college studentsmust pass the CET-6 and get the license? – That’s not a must and also notenough. As a matter of fact, there have a number of students who had got theirCET-6 license before their job hunting, but they still have not enoughqualification to accept the offer. Why? Because some of them just got alicense, but their real ability of English was not high. For example, some ofthem pass the exam but their oral English is quite low and they can not use Englishwell in their lives well. Therefore, a CET-6 license is not enough tocertificate our real level of English.
Faced with this situation, what should wedo? There is no doubt that we need to improve our real English ability as muchas possible instead of being crazed about getting all kinds of licenses whilewe are learning other major knowledge. With the real ability staying with us,no matter how low the employment rate, we still have a confidence to get a goodjob.
